If you want to control your RC helicopter like a pro, then you definitely need to upgrade to one with 4 channels. Channels represent movement and maneuverability, so the more channels utilized by an RC heli, the more movement options you’ll have. In addition to moving forward, back, up, and down, a 4 channel RC helicopter can strafe sideways right and left, making it much easier to pull of stunts and tricks.
Although you could step straight up to a 6 channel heli model, because of the added challenges involved it’s much smarter to more from 3 channel copters up to a 4 channel before making the jump to a 6 channel 3D flying beast!
Just like you wouldn’t jump straight into a nitro powered RC monster truck without a little preparation racing (and repairing!) more straight forward electric powered monster trucks, finding the best remote control helicopter for you shouldn’t mean just grabbing the most powerful and complicated you can find.
Indeed compared to inexpensive remote controlled cars, sleek RC monster trucks, great kitset model airplanes and even beginner focused remote control boats, 4 channel RC helicopters are accessible to the masses in a ‘quality’ way. Unfortunately, no two RC helicopters are alike, so what is the best remote control helicopter with 4 channels? While there are many 4 channel helicopter options to choose from, a handful consistently outperform all the rest.
Keep reading to find five of the best 4ch RC helicopter models available. With different features and styles, one of the following 4 channel helicopters is sure to be just right for you!

1. WL Toys 4 Channel RC Helicopter Gyro V911 RTF
Regardless of whether you’re a kid or big kid at heart, this flying helicopter toy is bar none one of the best available for an incredibly reasonably price.

This incredibly popular 4 channel helicopter features a single propeller and a built-in gyro for ultimate stability, yet thanks to its high-quality 2.4GHz transmitter with LCD display, it’s also ridiculously easy to maneuver.
However, this little gem of a 4 channel RC helicopter really shines when you take it outside! Unlike a 3 channel cheap RC helicopter with an infrared transmitter, this 4 channel flying helicopter toy can fly equally well both indoors and outdoors, even in windy conditions.
If you’ve flown RC helicopters for any length of time, you’re probably well aware of how the slightest breeze can send a heli into the trees or screaming to the ground in no time at all. So, this factor alone makes the price of this particular heli money well spent.
That being said, it’s made from shock-resistant materials with elastic properties, so it can take quite a licking and keep on ticking. It also happens to come equipped with one of the nicest remotes you’re likely to receive with an RTF.
No matter how many RC planes and helicopters you may have flown over the years, this little coaxial flying helicopter toy will give the best of them a run for their money any day of the week!
2. Wl Products 4 Channel 2.4GHz V911
Similar to the above helicopter in nearly every regard, this sleek looking red and black V911 heli from Wl Products is another excellent option if you’re looking for the best 4 channel RC helicopter.

Although it can be flown indoors, this baby really hauls. So, if you’re anything like me, you’ll be chomping at the bit to take it outdoors for some serious action.
You may only get about six to seven minutes of flying action per charge, which is quite normal for most featured up RC helis which are this powerful, but it comes with two batteries and a dual charger to practically double your flying time! I’m definitely not complaining about that and I know you wouldn’t either!
With two speeds and an amazing gyro system for added stability, this 4ch RC helicopter is definitely one of the best.
3. WL Toys Large V912
Okay, so far we’ve discussed two popular mini 4 channel RC helicopters, but if you want an easy-to-fly 4 channel that’s bigger, faster, and even more impressive, the WL Toys V912 is just what you’ve been looking for.

Considered by many to be the best 4 channel flying helicopter toy available, this single blade heli with gyro will not disappoint.
At first glance, it looks almost identical to the insanely popular V911, but thanks to its larger size and metal construction, it looks and feels much stronger. The craftsmanship of the V912 is impressive to say the least, so the amount of abuse this durable heli can take is not surprising.
Thanks to its added weight, this thing also handles like a dream outdoors in windy or slightly windy conditions. However, just because it’s bigger doesn’t mean it lacks responsiveness. It will go where you want it to, and because it’s a 4 channel, it’s that extra bit more maneuverable.
All in all, if you want the best 4 channel RC helicopter, the V912 is an excellent choice.
4. Hero RC H911 2.4GHZ iRocket 4 Channel Fixed Pitch Ready to Fly Helicopter
If you’re ready to move up from a 3 channel coaxial heli to a 4 channel, you can’t go wrong with the Hero RC H911. As a modified version of the ultra-popular V911, this revered 4ch RC helicopter enjoys all of the V911’s greatest attributes, plus a couple unique features of its own.

The biggest difference is obviously the Hero H911’s super cool and menacing shark mouth canopy, but it also features larger and more powerful 180mah batteries for extended flight time and a more aggressive swash plate that allows it to get up to speed much more quickly.
So, if you’re in the market for an excellent 4 channel fixed pitch micro heli that can fly both indoors and out, this is the one to grab. Not only does it outperform nearly every other model, but it’s cool paint job just screams fun and excitement!
5. JXD 4 Channel Indoor Infrared RC Gyroscope “Drift King” Helicopter
Switching things up a bit, I’ve decided to include an indoor only 4 channel flying helicopter toy on the list as well. As the newest indoor infrared RC helicopter on the market, the wildly popular JXD “Drift King” is one of the best.

In fact, it’s one of the only 4 channel indoor infrared helis available. The extra channel allows it to drift left or right, hence the name “Drift King.”
In short, this fast and fun little heli is spectacular! It’s fast, stable, durable, and keeps its trim once it’s set. What more could you ask for from an indoor heli?
The 4 Channel Helicopter – Get One Today!
A 3 channel RC heli is great when learning the flying basics, but it’s only natural to want to upgrade to a 4 channel RC helicopter and continue to hone your flying skills. With any of these five models, you can begin doing all of the fun maneuvers you could ever dream of, so get one today and get outside where helis were meant to soar!
do you have a news letter on the hilocopters that can fly at night with lights rc brand thank you
Hi Stan,
There aren’t too many heli’s out there like that unfortunately. There are some lower end ones that come with lights but are more just decorative than practical. It probably also depends what purpose you want the lights to serve. For example are they just for decoration or so you can maybe track the heli if you’re flying it at night? Let me know and I’ll see if there is anything else I can suggest from there.
Thanks
David
I think that rc helis with lights look cool like the Syma S107G.
Hey there,
For the H911 and v911, the battery seems to be in an angled position. Will that damage the plug or will the battery risk falling out?
Also, what is the helicopter in the picture at the top of this page?
Hi Michael,
The battery shouldn’t come out as long as it’s clipped in properly. Also the way the battery is designed to sit its pretty hard to give it a knock in a bad landing as between the landing skids and the angle of the tail it should be pretty hard to hit 🙂
And that helicopter in the picture is an older Japanese model (the name of it escapes me now) but pretty hard to get hold of these days.
